Vicky Sabourin is inspired by stories in the news and historical events. She is a multidisciplinary artist who creates installations and tableau vivants that rely on her own reminiscences to explore our private imagination.

Vicky Sabourin lives and works in Montreal, and has a MFA in visual arts from Concordia University. Her work has been presented in Canada, the United States and Europe. Recent solo exhibitions of her work have been shown, most notably in Les Curiosités at Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, Danse Macabre at l’Œil de Poisson (Quebec City) and Warmblood at Hamilton Artists Inc. (Hamilton, Ontario).

She combines photography and performance work in installations and narratives that are set up as dioramas and long-lasting tableaux vivants. In an embryonic state, the stories Vicky Sabourin replays initially have left an intense impression on her imagination and once they are staged, they evoke strong reactions from the public.
