This workshop by visual artist and author Aurore Juin invites a sensitive exchange around memory and creation. Each participant begins by writing a personal memory on a sheet of paper, then places it in the center of the table. Next, each participant picks a memory that is not his or her own, and illustrates it on a new sheet of paper. This process creates a relationship of care and attention to the other: by interpreting the other's story, we bring to light what seems essential to us, we bring a fresh perspective, sometimes even a touch of lightness in the face of heavier memories.
For this evening, the Symposium is teaming up with Animation Baie-Saint-Paul to create a unique experience under the theme of Rencontr. Starting at 6:00 p.m., we invite you to come and enjoy a contemporary art experience with sculptor-patter Mathieu Fecteau, who has developed the Tric-O-Mobile, a tricycle that allows you to knit unique tuques/scarves using the pedal system. You can also make your own wool creations.
Music takes center stage from 7:30 p.m. with the group Paruline, whose distinctive style is a happy blend of traditional Québécois music and today's indie-folk.

As part of the residency, Les Oncles de l'artiste will design a whimsical bolide based on a horse-drawn carriage that, when pushed, activates a mechanism imitating the sound of hooves on the ground. This ambulant-sound maneuver covets urban areas often "spared" by current art; residential neighborhoods, sports parks, shopping mall parking lots. Inspired by the horse-drawn age of itinerant merchants selling ice, coal, milk, hot beers, etc., the artist is not yet sure what service he will offer. At this event, be the first to see the work in action.

For this festive moment, inspired by coffee parties, we're organizing a big celebration in their studio, so that we can all celebrate and experience this joy together. Fireworks atmosphere with DJ Philippe Lessard-Drolet and coffee and pastry service.

In this workshop with Annie France Noël, participants are invited to create a collective work made of threads, knots and stitches, as traces of the ties that bind us together. Through the gesture of weaving, knotting and knitting, we'll explore how interpersonal relationships are built, broken or transformed. Each contribution, however small, will enrich a shared reflection on the complexity and beauty of human bonds.
Balls of wool and other knitting materials will be provided!
Mana Rouholamini will spark conversations around sharing and words with members of the public at the Baie-Saint-Paul International Symposium of Contemporary Art.
