Anne Beauchemin is an art historian, independent curator and part-time university instructor (Université de Laval). She has written the first analysis of the history of the Symposium, covering the years 1982-1999 and 2000-2011. In 2013, she published Le Symposium international d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul: L’art en pensée et en actes.

We are honoured to welcome Françoise Sullivan as our Honorary President in this year that marks her 100th birthday. This versatile and unique artist has left her mark in dance, sculpture, conceptual art and painting in Quebec. We celebrate this prolific artist and her contribution to the art world.

Brief History

Founded in 1982 by Françoise Labbé under the name of the International Symposium of Young Painting in Canada, the International Contemporary Art Symposium of Baie-Saint-Paul is a unique event in Quebec, recognized both in Canada and abroad.

A live creation experience: thirteen artists at work, from Quebec, Montreal and elsewhere in Quebec, as well as Canada, the United States and from everywhere around the world !
